Our most popular trip is reef fishing, perfect for beginners and families, targeting yellowtail snapper, grouper, and other tropical species on the third-largest barrier reef in the world. We also offer bay fishing for mangrove snappers, and in cooler months, Spanish mackerel and sea-trout, offshore fishing for mahi-mahi, sailfish, and kingfish, and wreck fishing for trophy-sized fish around structure. Every trip is customized to your preferences and the current fishing conditions.

How long are your fishing trips?

Our standard trips are 4 hours, which provides plenty of time to reach productive fishing grounds and enjoy great action. We can also arrange half-day (6 hours) and full-day (8+ hours) trips for anglers wanting extended time on the water or targeting specific species that require more travel time. The 4-hour trip is our most popular option and perfect for families, first-timers, or anyone wanting a taste of Florida Keys fishing without committing a full day.

How much does a charter fishing trip cost?

Our 4-hour reef fishing trip is $750 for up to 6 anglers, making it an excellent value when split among a group. This price includes all fishing equipment, tackle, bait, ice, fishing licenses, fish cleaning, and professional instruction from Captain Izaak King. Half-day and full-day trips are priced accordingly. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season (December through April), to secure your preferred date and time.

Everything you need for an incredible day of fishing is included! Your charter comes with all fishing equipment and tackle, including professional-grade rods, reels, and terminal tackle. We provide all bait and ice, and your Florida fishing license is covered under our charter license. After the trip, we offer complimentary fish cleaning and filleting service—your catch will be ready to take home or to a local restaurant for cooking. Captain Izaak provides professional instruction and shares local knowledge throughout the trip. All you need to bring is food, drinks, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure!

We provide all fishing equipment, but there are several items we recommend bringing for your comfort:

  • Sun protection: Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), sunglasses with polarized lenses, and a wide-brimmed hat
  • Food and drinks: Bring snacks, lunch, and plenty of water. Soft-sided coolers work best on the boat
  • Camera: Capture your catches and the beautiful Florida Keys scenery
  • Appropriate clothing: Light, breathable clothing and non-marking boat shoes or sandals
  • Medication: Seasickness medication if you're prone to motion sickness (take 1 hour before departure)
  • Rain jacket: Florida weather can be unpredictable, even on sunny days

We have coolers on board to keep your beverages cold throughout the trip.

Dress for sun, wind, and water! We recommend light-colored, breathable clothing such as quick-dry fishing shirts and shorts. Long sleeves and pants can provide additional sun protection. Wear non-marking boat shoes, sandals with straps, or water shoes—avoid black-soled shoes that can leave marks on the deck. Bring a light rain jacket or windbreaker as Florida weather can change quickly. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat with a chin strap (windy on the water!) and polarized sunglasses to cut glare and help you spot fish. Layers are smart as it can be cooler in early morning departures.

No, you do not need to purchase a fishing license! Your fishing is covered under Captain Izaak's charter license, which allows all passengers to fish legally in Florida waters. This is one of the great benefits of booking a licensed charter—we handle all the regulatory requirements so you can focus on fishing. Our charter license covers recreational bag limits for all species we target, and Captain Izaak ensures we follow all Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regulations.

The Crazy Lady can accommodate up to 6 anglers comfortably. This is the maximum capacity set by the Coast Guard and ensures everyone has enough space to fish effectively and safely. Our 29-foot SeaVee center console is spacious with plenty of room for casting, fighting fish, and moving around. Groups of 2-4 anglers tend to have the most room, but we regularly take out full parties of 6 with great success. The per-trip pricing means larger groups get excellent value when splitting the cost.

The Florida Keys offer incredible variety! On our reef fishing trips, expect to catch yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, various grouper species, kingfish, barracuda, and more. Offshore trips target mahi-mahi, sailfish, wahoo, blackfin tuna, and kingfish depending on the season. Bay trips focus on mangrove snappers, Spanish mackerel and sea-trout. Summer months focus more on snappers around the mangrove structure. What you'll catch depends on the trip type, season, and current conditions, but Captain Izaak's local knowledge ensures we're always fishing the most productive spots.

Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. Captain Izaak monitors weather conditions closely and will contact you if conditions are unsafe for fishing. In the Florida Keys, we fish year-round, and many days that look cloudy or breezy can actually provide excellent fishing. However, if severe weather, dangerous winds, or rough seas are forecasted, we will offer you the option to reschedule your trip to another date with no penalty or receive a full refund of your deposit. We typically make weather call decisions the evening before or morning of the trip. Note that rain alone doesn't usually cancel trips—fish don't mind getting wet, and some of our best fishing happens in light rain!

The 29-foot SeaVee "Crazy Lady" is a premium center console fishing vessel designed specifically for the Florida Keys. SeaVee is renowned for building some of the finest fishing boats in the world, and our boat is meticulously maintained to the highest standards. The center console design provides 360-degree fishability with plenty of space for up to 6 anglers. She's powered by reliable engines that get us to the fishing grounds quickly and safely. The boat features a T-top for shade, a spacious deck with comfortable seating, a large live well for bait, fish boxes for your catch, and all the latest electronics for navigation and fish finding. The shallow draft allows us to access backcountry flats while the deep-V hull handles offshore waters with ease. Most importantly, the Crazy Lady is Coast Guard certified and carries all required safety equipment.

Yes, absolutely! Fish cleaning and filleting service is included with every charter at no additional cost. After the trip, Captain Izaak will clean and fillet your catch so it's ready to take home or to a local restaurant for cooking. We package the fillets in bags with ice to keep them fresh. Many guests take their catch to Keys Fisheries (right where we dock!) or other local restaurants that will cook your fresh fish for dinner—there's nothing better than eating fish you caught just hours earlier. We follow all Florida regulations regarding bag limits and size restrictions, ensuring sustainable fishing practices.

We depart from behind Keys Fisheries, located at 3502 Gulfview Ave, Marathon, FL 33050. This is an excellent central location in the heart of the Florida Keys with easy access to both Atlantic reefs and Gulf backcountry waters. When you arrive, look for the Crazy Lady—a 29-foot white SeaVee center console. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time to get settled, stow your gear, and go over the day's plan. There's ample parking available, and Keys Fisheries itself is a famous local spot—you might want to grab lunch or dinner there after your trip! Captain Izaak will provide detailed directions and his cell phone number when you book so you can easily find us.
